Loving and gracious God,
we thank You for the gift of teachers who inspire, guide, encourage, and shape the lives of young people.
On this special occasion of Teacher’s Day, we gather with grateful hearts to honour all our teachers. Thank You, Lord, for their dedication, patience, wisdom, and selfless service. Through their words, actions, and example, they become instruments of knowledge, hope, and transformation.
Bless every teacher gathered here. Give them wisdom to guide, patience to understand, courage to face challenges, and joy in their mission. May they always teach not only with their minds, but also with their hearts.
Lord, make our teachers shining lights for their students and faithful instruments in building a better and more compassionate society.
As we begin this prayer service, fill our hearts with gratitude and bless our teachers abundantly. May this celebration renew their commitment and remind them of the noble mission entrusted to them.

Teacher’s Day is celebrated in India every year on 5 September to honour and appreciate the contribution of teachers to education and society.
The day marks the birth anniversary of Dr.Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, a renowned philosopher, scholar, former President of India, and an outstanding teacher. When his students wanted to celebrate his birthday, he suggested that the day be observed as Teacher’s Day instead. Thus, 5 September became a day dedicated to teachers.
“We celebrate Teacher’s Day not merely to honour those who teach us lessons, but to thank those who light the path of our lives. A teacher plants the seeds of knowledge, nurtures the values of character, and inspires the dreams of tomorrow. Every teacher is a star who brings light, hope, and colour into the lives of students.”
