Hearty welcome to all of you to part take in this Easter prayer service. Easter day is a gentle and genuine reminder to all of us that we are an Easter people. Every year we come together in the name of our resurrected Lord to celebrate our hope and joy of Easter. It is the day designed by the magnificent Lord to explore our happiness of new life in the resurrected Lord. As we enter into the sanctuary to witness today’s prayer service, may we all carry a heart of receptivity, mind of serenity and a soul of tranquility.

LIGHTING OF THE LAMP

Now the heart of every creature

fills with hope and with gratitude

they rise resplendent from their bondage

for their Lord has set them free

from the power of death’s decree.

We are filled with an outstanding Easter joy. Our hearts are overwhelmed with the feelings of tremendous contentment because Jesus our divine master is risen forever. We have every reason and season to celebrate its victory from the slavery of death, fear, doubts and sin. Jesus our true light has vanished the darkness of anxiety, turmoil and tensions. Come let us experience the divine light, eradicate the symptoms of darkness by lighting up  the lamp symbolically.

Psalm 145 [ 1-3 verses are recited together]

Lord, God of all holiness, remembering your holy words  ” I’m the light of world ” we soulfully adore you for the treasure of this Easter morning where we manifest your divine light at this juncture. Your mere presence amidst us ever enriching and encouraging. And also it leads to ever transforming and sustaining. Your marvelous presence is an ever promising driving force for us to trade the path of truthfulness and heartfulness. Now I invite ———to light the first wick of the lamp.

Lord, God of all goodness, re cherishing  your life giving words ” I’m with you till the end of time ” we humbly venerate you for the gift of your friendship to each one of us. Your accompaniment always aspire us to become very vibrant in our mission of building up your kingdom on this planet. It always empowers and enlightens our will to walk in your path, our wish to follow you more fervently and our desire to embrace you at any cost. Now, I invite ——to light the second wick of the lamp.

Lord, God of all kindness, recalling your life changing words, ” You are the light of the world ” we lovingly venerate you for calling us all to join in the company of your beloved disciples. Your invitation to each one of us is not just a call but a promise of your covenantal relationship. It truly helps us to evolve from our fragile self to transform into an agile self to act promptly with zeal and zest. Your invitation is a life line for us to remain steadfast in your vineyard. Now I invite—–to light up the third wick of the lamp.

Lord, God of all praises and glory, recollecting your strengthening words ” Peace be with you ” we fondly pay our homage to your holy name. Your gift of peace always inspires us to indulge in establishing harmony, pushes us to involve in creating solidarity and urges us to proving fraternity. The gift of peace for which the whole world longs for and you have freely imparted it in our hands and we want to hold it very responsibly. Now I invite —- to light up the fourth wick of the lamp.

Lord, God of all greatness, reflecting your encouraging words ” The Lord is my light and my salvation ” we fervently adore you for the unconditional love you have for us and the abundant graces you shower upon us. Lord, you not only show the way through your words but also you dispel the darkness in and around us so that we may walk towards you persistently. And, therefore we love to pave a way for the world towards easter and its promises. Now I invite —-to light up the fifth wick of the lamp.

Queen of heaven rejoice, alleluia, alleluia

for the son you were worthy to bear alleluia, alleluia

has now risen indeed as he said alleluia, alleluia

dearest mother, your gladness we share alleluia, alleluia.

It is very apt and fit to honor our blessed mother on this easter day. She was filled with holy spirit and she guided the disciples to receive the gifts of the holy spirit by gathering them to pray individually and collectively. She being a best and genuine disciple of God show a right and fruitful way to all the disciples even today. She silently journeyed along with Jesus on the way to Calvary, courageously stood under the foot of the cross and remarkably led the disciples to remain together in faith. Yes, she is an embodiment of faith, her receptivity is tangible and her fiat is effective. She showed her fidelity to God through her suffering. In her, we see total receptivity to God’s unfolding love and compassion and complete response of total surrender. To this great icon of this universe let us all stand and pay our tribute by honoring her through garlanding, crowning and by performing arathi.

We are an Easter people and ours is an Easter joy is the message and prayer for us today. Let our joy be bloomed like the fresh flowers.  We remember our universal church and all her faithful people. May she grow in the everlasting love of Jesus by the unwavering  faith of the Shepherds and the flocks. May all of them continue to have an ardent love for God and His call. Through their selfless efforts, may the face of the world be renewed, henceforth the church becomes an instrument of Easter and its joy. Let us pray

EASTER LOVE:

” In Jesus, all our sufferings and in Jesus, all our love. ”

We are an Easter people and ours is an Easter love is the message and prayer for us today. Let our love be real and pure as the fresh water. We remember and pray for all the leaders of this universe and their service. May they all find solace by being sensitive to the poor and downtrodden. May all take selfless initiative to work for the underprivileged and make this world to experience and enjoy the true love and its impact. Let us pray

EASTER HOPE:

” In Jesus, all our anxieties and in Jesus, all our hope ”

We are an Easter people and ours is an Easter hope is the message and prayer for us today. Let our hope be profound and growing just like the new seeds. We with so much hope, remember and pray for all the people who lost their hope due to poverty, unemployment and loss of their beloved ones. May they all regain their hope to find a new meaning in life. Through the good sources, may they all be enlightened to come back to life, life in abundance. Let us pray

EASTER FREEDOM:

” In Jesus, all our mourning and in Jesus , all our freedom ”

We are an Easter people and ours is an Easter freedom is the message and prayer for us today. Let our freedom be known to the world just like  a new chick comes out of an egg. We remember and pray for all those are imprisoned. May their cry for freedom be heard by our Lord and may they all enjoy justice and righteousness. May their constant try for the value of freedom be known and acknowledged by everyone in today’s scenario.    Let us pray

EASTER PEACE:

” In Jesus, all our redemption and in Jesus, all our peace ”

We are an Easter people and ours is an Easter peace is the message and prayer for us today. Let our peace be reflected to the world just like the flames of lighted candles.  We remember and pray for all the missionaries, all over the world. May their service for the Lord bear valuable fruits. May they find the support of the divine light in the midst of doubts, discouragement, oppressions and loneliness. Let us pray

Let us continue to pray in silence for the very many needs of our people around us.

CONCLUDING PRAYER:

Now we are endowed with new life and endorsed with new journey. We are no longer aliens and strangers but people of God instead. God our universal parent, allow us to travel with you just like the disciples travelled with you on the way to Emmaus. So that our hearts and minds will be opened and our souls will rest and meaning in you, in you alone. Guide us all to become the torch bearer of your Easter promises and sharer of your vision and mission. Envelope us with the power of togetherness to remain together in prayer life, ensure us with the power of your mercy to forgive others, enrich us with the power of your graces to understand everyone and enable us with the power of your resurrection to create a world where the everlasting peace dominates. We make this prayer through Christ our Lord. Amen.

புனித வளனாரின் ஜெப வழிபாடு – மார்ச் 19

‌ அன்புச் சகோதரிகளே!

இன்று நாம் பெரும் மகிழ்வோடு ஒன்றி கூடி இருப்பதற்கு காரணம் நம் புனிதர் வளனாரின் பெருவிழாவை சிறப்பிப்பதற்காகவே. ஆம்! நமது தாய் திருச்சபையின், தனித்துவமான நம் புனிதர் வளனாரின் திருநாளை பெருவிழாவாகக் கொண்டாட மகிழ்ச்சியோடு ஒரே குடும்பமாக கூடியுள்ளோம். ஒவ்வொரு பெருவிழா கொண்டாட்டமும் உற்சாகத்தோடும் மகிழ்ச்சியோடும் கொண்டாடப்பட வேண்டிய ஒன்றாகும். தாயும் தந்தையுமான எங்கள் அன்பு தெய்வமே இறைவா! இந்த நாளிலே சிறப்பான விதமாக எம் புனித வளனாரின் திருவிழாவை கொண்டாட நீ தந்த வாய்ப்பிற்காகவும் அருள் ஆசிருக்காகவும் உமக்கு நன்றி கூறுகின்றோம். உம்மை போற்றி புகழ்கின்றோம். அன்பு ஆண்டவரே உமது நிபந்தனையற்ற அன்பே , உம்மை போற்றுவதற்கும் புகழ்வதற்கும் உமது அருள் ஆசிரியை பெறுவதற்கும் உமது தெய்வீக அருள் பிரசன்னத்தில் எங்களை ஒன்று கூட்டி இருக்கின்றது.

கொண்டாட்டம் என்பது கடவுளின் கொடையின் வெளிப்பாடாகும், அழைப்பு என்பது அவருடைய கருணையின் வெளிப்பாடாகும். ஆகவே இக் கொண்டாட்டத்தின் சிறப்பாக நம் புனிதர் வளனாருக்கு ஆரத்தி எடுத்து, மாலை அணிவித்து இந்த ஜெப வேலையை தொடங்குவோம் .

பாடல்:

புனித வளனார் நம் அன்னை மரியாளின் சிறந்த பாதுகாவலராகவும், இயேசு கிறிஸ்துவின் வளர்ப்பு தந்தையாகவும் இருக்கின்றார். வளனார் என்ற இந்த “நேர்மையாளர்” பற்றி நம்பத்தகுந்த வகையில் அறியப்பட்ட அனைத்தும் புனித மத்தேயு மற்றும் லூக்காவின் நற்செய்திகளின் முதல் இரண்டு அதிகாரங்களில் கொடுக்கப்பட்டுள்ளன. அத்தகைய நிரூபிக்கப்படாத கூற்றுகளில், வளனார் , மரியாளை மணந்தபோது ஏற்கனவே மிகவும் வயதானவராக இருந்தார் என்ற பண்டைய பாரம்பரியத்தை நாம் அறிந்து கொள்ள வேண்டும். செயின்ட் தாமஸ் அக்வினாஸுடன், புனித கப்ரியல் வான தூதர் அறிவித்த நேரத்தில், இளமையான மரியாள் மற்றும் வளனார் மிகவும் அன்புடன் வாழ்ந்து வந்தனர்.

விவிலியத்தில், யோசேப்பு என்ற சிறுவன் இயேசுவைக் கண்டுபிடித்ததற்குப் பிறகு வேறு எந்தக் குறிப்பும் இல்லை என்பதிலிருந்து, நம் இயேசு கிறிஸ்து தமது நற்செய்தி பணியை துவங்கிய ஆரம்ப காலத்தில் வளனார் இருந்ததற்கான சான்றுகள் இல்லை என்பது நியாயமான உண்மையாகும் . அவரது மரணம் மற்றும் அடக்கம் செய்யப்பட்ட தேதி மற்றும் இடம் தெரியவில்லை, ஆனால் ஆரம்ப காலத்திலிருந்தே, வளனாரின் மேல் மிகுந்த பக்தியுடன் அவரது ஜெப முறை ஒரு அற்புதமான முறையில் படிப்படியாக அதிகரித்து வருகிறது.

FEAST OF ST.JOSEPH — 19th March PRAYER SERVICE.

INTRODUCTION:

The feast of St. Joseph is the reason for our gathering. We are delighted to join with the intention of celebrating today’s feast of the unique icon of our mother church. Every celebration wraps with the bundle of excitement and enthusiasm. Today we are blessed to part take in the promise of our Lord. God has been so kind and genuine to each one of us by consecrating this day as a day of celebration. God, our loving father and mother, we truly praise you and bless you for your benevolent graces of making this day so divine and honored. It is the unconditional love of you dear Lord  brought us to your divine sanctuary to adore you with our humble efforts.

Celebration is the expression of God’s gift and invitation is the manifestation of His mercy. Let us begin this prayer service by performing arathi to St. Joseph and garlanding him.

HYMN:

Little definite information has come down to us about the  chosen soul who was to be, in God’s providence, the earthly guardian of Our Lady and the Foster-father of the Incarnate Word. All that is reliably known of this “just man” named Joseph is contained in the first two chapters of the Gospels of Sts Matthew and Luke.  Among such unproved claims must be classed the ancient tradition that Joseph was already a very old man when he married Mary.  With St Thomas Aquinas we may believe that at the time of the Annunciation by the Archangel Gabriel, young Mary and Joseph were merely affianced.

From the fact that there is no further reference to Joseph in the Bible after the finding of the boy Jesus in the temple, it has been reasonably inferred that he did not live to see the beginning of Our Lord’s public ministry. The date and place of his death and burial are unknown, but devotion has been shown to him since the earliest times;  and his cult has been steadily increasing in a marvelous manner.

St Teresa of Avila (Spain) chose St Joseph as the Patron of her reform of the Carmelite Order and her nuns were given the privilege in 1689 of keeping a feast honoring his patronage.

Joseph is, no doubt, the greatest and most beloved of all the saints of the Catholic Church next only to Mary. His greatness and that of Mary is measured by their closeness to Jesus Christ when he came to earth two millennia ago as the Word-Made- Flesh, the God-With-Us, to impart eternal life to all who believed in him. Little wonder then that Pope Pius IX, on 8 December 1870,  proclaimed Joseph the Patron Saint of the Universal Church.

The kingdom of Christ’s reign of grace on earth commenced the moment he was born a child of the Holy Family where Joseph was the least in personal worth, yet at the level of grace far greater than any human person except Mary. Rightly then, the Catholic Church, to use the words of Pope Pius IX, teaches that St Joseph has been designated by God as the master of his goods and of his household. In 1955 Pope Pius XII added the title, “Patron of workmen” . Great in the spirit, great in faith, St Joseph comes through as a man who heard the words of the living God – he listened to those words in silence, and became, as it were, the first witness of the Divine Mystery.

Let us praise God for this wonderful saint to our mother church by praying this psalm

St. Joseph was not only a just man but also a man of serenity.  He lived an exemplary life. His efforts for the accomplishment of the redemptive work of the Trinitarian God, bears a true message even today. With his enormous support to the plan of God, he proved himself as a man of God’s message. His unwavering faith in God, made him to become a man of faith and hope in the providential care of God’s compassion. To follow his virtues let us all plead our Lord through this contemplation and also gather all our intercessory prayers.

PURITY:

” Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven ”

Dear St. Joseph, you made yourself poor in spirit so that you could inherit the heaven. Every moment of your life, God and His concerns were predominantly expressed. Your thoughts carried the image of God, your words carried the purposes of God and your deeds carried the mission of God. You are the true example of poor in spirit and therefore you invite us too embrace the kingdom of heaven. We bring before you all those who are working with humble hearts to transform this world into a place of heavenly kingdom.  Please intercede for all  those who are working  in mission stations. May their endeavor bear fruits in abundance. Let their strive towards God’s kingdom through the preaching and practicing of word of God make them to be contented. Remembering all the saints and praying for all the missionaries let us offer this symbol.

” Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted ”

Dear St. Joseph, you mourned when you could not understand the plan of God. After the annunciation, you obeyed to the voice of God in accepting mother Mary,  you collaborated with her,  thereby you found comfort and solace in the Lord. It was your initiative in silence to prepare yourself as a foster father of Jesus. Through your intercession we pray all those who mourn with various crisis and tensions. May they all understand that they will be comforted with the accompaniment of our Lord. May their cry be heard and answered. Remembering all of them and offering our prayers to all those who sincerely work for their relief.  May they all too get a chance to lead their life with a divine light. We offer this symbol.

Dear St. Joseph, your nature of accepting the word of God as it is made everyone to walk in the path of righteousness. Your meekness to own the image of God through your humble deeds is the venerable gesture on earth. Your attitude towards God’s kingdom made you worthy enough to praise you as an authentic follower of divine promises. Through your intercessory prayers we pray for all those who work with the people who suffer with various physical, mental and psychological ailments. Dear St. Joseph, your thirst for righteousness made you a man of holiness. You were hungry for the Lord and His salvific plan. You walked in the path of loyalty and justice. Your promptness to fulfill the divine plan was authentic and admirable. Your noble behavior to indulge in God’s active  and vibrant mission showed your dynamic contribution. Through your intercessory prayers we pray for all those who are suffering with the sicknesses of poverty and  unemployment.  Let all the people who can render their service for their upliftment work meticulously in order to bring harmony and fulfillment. Dear St. Joseph, your nature of being silent and working vibrantly is the message for all of us. You created an ambience for the comfortable people around you. Some people see your bright personality as endearing and others see it as annoying.

Some people see you encouraging and motivational and others feel discouraging and demotivational.

Some people think you’re weak and emotional and others feel safe to be themselves around you.

Some people think you are an optimistic and others think you are a pessimistic
Some people think you’re rude and selfish and others respect the way you stand up for yourself.

Some people admire the way you take pride in the way you look and others think you’re conceited.

And none of it has to do with who you truly are as a person.

The only thing that truly matters when the dust settles down at the end of the day is what you genuinely see in yourself. Because

BEHOLD, NOW IS THE FAVORABLE TIME

In today’s scenario everything is possible within no time. Meeting everyone at any time, visiting every place at any time and executing anything at anytime is possible within no time.

But TIME belongs to God. It is only in and for Him. It is very sacred because it is owned by God. He is the author and architect of it. He does not only create it but also, He rules upon it.

Time opens up a new room for hope.

Time clears the way of obstacles.

Time prepares to accept changes.

Time teaches to be flexible.

Time heals the wounds on its own.

Time triggers the heart to melt down.

We understand and create everything. We learn and unlearn massive ideas. We recreate everything in an awestruck manner. We can replace or donate  organs. We can destruct or construct as per our aspirations. We can make our own family, a family of friends, a family of colleague and a family of like minded people.

But TIME totally depends on God’s plan and wish. It is precious because it is framed by the supreme God. He is the ultimate manufacturer and designer as well. Therefore let us respect, honor and value TIME.

Yes, it is the favorable time.

On this great day of celebrating the feast day of our seven holy founders, we are filled with profound joy and happiness.  In the beginning, Mother Mary was their chief architect of this new order which was founded on the humility of its members, built up by their mutual love and preserved by their poverty. Joining with all the members of our Servite order, come let us go in procession towards the Holy Sanctuary.

As we proceed, let us recite Hail Mary prayer after every response.

Today is the day of coming together as a community in commemorating our fraternity. This day signifies the tremendous contribution of our fore fathers to our mother Church and to this universe. They laid a legacy for community life, prayer, penance and silence. Ultimately they lived a heavenly life on this earth.

On the Feast of the Assumption in the year 1233, Our Blessed Mother appeared to the 7 members of a Florentine Confraternity named “Laudesi” (the “Praisers” of Mary) when they were at prayer and bade them withdraw into solitude. Accordingly, these young noblemen of the city, 2 of whom were married and 2 others widowed, after having settled their personal affairs and made adequate provision for their dependents, established themselves several miles north of the city on the secluded Monte Senario. Here Mary appeared to them again and showed them the black habit she desired them to wear in memory of her sorrow and desolation at the foot of the Cross and instructed them to found the “Ordo Fratrum Servorum Sanctae Mariae” (Order of Friar Servants of St Mary) under the rule of St Augustine of Hippo. They carried out these directives under the guidance of St Peter of Verona, O.P., devoting themselves to much prayer, penance and silence on the one hand and teaching, preaching and various ministerial activities on the other.

The new order grew with such astonishing rapidity that by the beginning of the 14th century the Servites numbered 10,000, housed in 100 monasteries and missions spread across every continent, including the sub-continent of India. A Second Order for cloistered nuns and a Third Order for active works of charity and education, were also founded towards the end of the 13th century, the latter by St Juliana Falconieri.

Let us all with immense gratitude venerate our Lord who called and embraced our seven holy founders by joining in this bhajan.

SAINT BONFILIUS:

We owe our deepest sense of gratitude to saint Bonfilius for the extremely supreme quality of trading the path for prayer life. He followed the invitation of the Lord and through the intense effort the community members could pray meaningfully and remained close to God forever. They submitted everything in prayer so that they could transform themselves into a torch bearers of prayer.

Let us pray:

We plead you dear saint Bonfilius, for entire Servite family that through your intercessory prayers we too become the true messengers of prayer. Like Mary may we all remain faithful to our prayer life and like Jesus may we all draw inspiration and strength through prayer. Accompany us in our journey that our life may bear witness to consecrated life through our prayer. For this we pray and offer this lighted lamp and sing  the chorus.

We humbly express our sincere thanks to saint Alexis for your contribution to build up the community. We pray to you St. Alexis, for all the communities of Servite order that we may all understand the real meaning of community life and proclaim the charism of our Congregation through our witnessing life. Help us when we fail to cooperate with our community members for the welfare of the society. We pray to you dear St. Manettus, for all the members of our mother church and our Servite order that we all may experience the golden virtue of penance during this Lenten observance. May our hearts burn for the love of Jesus and thereby we will be able to give up our selfish nature and become the ardent followers of Christ with all our humility. May your divine intercessory prayers be the source of charity, purity and sincerity. We plead your intercessory prayers dear St.Sostene  for all the young sisters of our Congregation and for eminent vocations. May your prayers help our young sisters to become the tabernacle of Jesus, our divine master. May you intercede for our Congregation so that it may be  blessed with numerous numbers of young girls joining in the company of showing our devotion to blessed mother. We love you dear St. Buonagiunta for your promising nature of spiritual perfection. You showed the way to all to attain spiritual perfection. Your total commitment to the very life of simple nature, humility and so obedient to say yes for God’s call led all the people to understand and acknowledge the spiritual perfection. It indeed created an aspiration to all who came in contact with you all dear holy fathers.

In 1240, seven noblemen of Florence mutually decided to withdraw from the city to a solitary place and lead lives as hermits on Monte Senario, especially venerating the Blessed Virgin Mary. Then they preached through the length and breadth of Tuscany, and founded the Order of Servites which in 1304 received the approval of the Holy See. They are venerated on this day which is said to be the day on which St Alexis Falconeiri, one of the seven, died, in the year 1310.

We observe a moment of deep silence in praying for all the departed Servite fathers, brothers, sisters and benefactors. May they all rest in peace and enjoy God’s heavenly abode.

Mother Mary was the mother of faith to our seven holy founders. In her they saw the real image of Jesus. She was their role model to live as fathers of prayer. From her they drew great inspiration to spend their entire life time for the Lord and with the Lord. Mother Mary as the super iconic personality for all its virtues and values, stands today as our ever admirable mother. Let us stand and sing together the Magnificat  and sprinkle flowers to her.

INTRODUCTION:

Every new beginning is the sign of new hope.

Every new hope is the sign of new opportunities.

Every new opportunity is the sign of new promise.

Every new promise is the sign of new possibilities.

Every new possibility is the sign of new dream.

Every new dream is the sign of new beginning.

Yes, every New Year is an invitation for a fresh journey. Let this journey in this year 2024 may be a fabulous, fantastic  soulful year for everyone on this earth.

On this day, our Mother Church honor Blessed Virgin Mary as Mother of God. Mother who totally gave up her desire and embraced God’s plan with utmost trust and faith upon Him. Her journey towards the redemptive purpose of the Lord is venerable. Her fidelity towards  the love of God was so unshakable and she kept it so close to her heart. She could sacrifice her personal interest and her own commitment because of her fidelity. Her divine motherhood is honored on this day as she proved an outstanding life style of giving oneself completely to the Lord. Therefore she is the mother of God and mother of us. With our hearts full of excitement and amusement let us give our tribute to our beloved mother by placing stars. After every praises let us chant Hail Mary full of grace—and place the star.

God promised a new covenant and new earth to Noah. Today He promises us a new love, new joy, new happiness, new strength, new vision , new mission, new life and a new vibe. He wishes everything during this year to be universal not of individual. Of course this year would be the year of undoing of the past and restarting of the future. But let us always try to be faithful to the year, month, week and days of 2024 here and now. His intervention will surely accompany us in all walks of our life. God has a unique plan for all of us and He will truly make it happen in and through us. Gathering all our hope and trust in the Lord and welcoming this new year let us sing
