In today's first reading, St. Paul says, _"You are members of God's household, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the cornerstone."_
Let us offer this first decade that we may be built through the Holy Spirit into a dwelling place of God, into His temple.
*2. Meditation on the Ascension of Jesus,*
In today's Gospel reading we see that Jesus prayed to God the Father all night long before choosing the twelve Apostles. Let us pray to God before every decision we make daily in our lives. Let us offer this second decade seeking the help of the Holy Spirit to know God's plan in every matter.
*3. Meditation on the Descent of the Holy Spirit,*
The Apostle Simon, who was called the Zealot, was sawn with a saw and died as a martyr. Today as we celebrate the feast of Apostle Simon, let us offer this third decade that we too may learn his noble virtue of enduring sufferings for Jesus.
*4. Meditation on the Assumption of Mother Mary,*
Today we also celebrate the feast of Apostle Jude Thaddeus, who is the patron of the abandoned, orphans and the like. Let us offer this fourth decade that countless people languishing in loneliness may find light and hope in life.
*5. Meditation on Mother Mary being crowned as Queen of Heaven and Earth,*
On this Wednesday dedicated to St. Joseph, let us offer this fifth decade that love, peace, harmony, sacrifice, and humility that existed in the Holy Family may also exist in our families.
_Amen._
