***Saint Bridget of Sweden*** (July 23, 1303 - 1373)
Born into a family of high standing in the royal court, Bridget received an excellent education and excelled in her faith and devotion. She frequently meditated devoutly on the Passion of the Lord Jesus. At the age of 14, she married Magnus, the King of Sweden, and together they had eight children. Her beloved daughter, Catherine, also attained sainthood.
After her husband, the King, passed away, Bridget joined the Franciscan Third Order. She used all her husband's property to establish the Bridgettine Order and authored several books. She had a vision of Jesus hanging on the cross, wept, and asked, "Lord, who inflicted this suffering?" Jesus replied, "Those who reject my love." When she then asked how to express gratitude, Jesus said, I LOVE YOU
